Ancestral Homes: The Jon Larcom House

This home is owned by Peg & Steve Powers and is a Bed & Breakfast in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts. Located at 28 Hart Street, this home was built in circa 1793. I believe this to be the home of Jonathan Larcom, [my 4th great-grand uncle] born in September 15, 1768. He was the son of our Revolutionary War patriot Jonathan Larcom (1742-1778). He married twice, first to Mary Chamberlain in 1790 and second to Anna Ober in 1798. He had children by both women. One record says that he was a mariner, so he must have been very successful to have such a grande house.

My husband and I spent a week here on an small honeymoon in 2005 a few months after we were married. We enjoyed every minute in this beautiful home. Peg and Steve were so gracious, everything was perfect all the way down to the beautifully set table at breakfast. I highly recommend checking it out.

It is just a block away from the Beverly Farms Cemetery, where I have spent many hours walking around photographing headstones. This is where many of my ancestors are buried including two of my 2nd great-grandfathers.
